Artwork submission guidelines
We commission artists for both the double-page spread illustrations for the prose stories and also comics. Full graphic stories are also accepted so long as stories meet the same criteria as prose. If you have samples of your work at a website send us the link. If you are new to sequential art there are some useful tips on this page
Story content shouldn't differ from prose (strictly no super heroes!) and submission criteria are the same. We're looking for really strong concise stories within six pages although we do go up to ten if the story justifies it. But generally the shorter the better. We may consider serials. Submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
By submitting your work to Murky Depths you are confirming it is your own and that you have full rights to the work. We require first publishing rights. All other rights revert to the creator three months after publication. Work remains the copyright of the creator at all times.
For example, a complete finished strip of six pages would pay £48.
All contributors will receive a credit, brief bio and link. We aim to improve on all rates in the future.
All contributors will also receive two free copies (worth £13.98) of the issue of Murky Depths in which their work appears and a running list of contributors appears here.Main page.
