Artwork submission guidelines
Artwork
When we see it we'll know! Full graphic stories also accepted so long as stories meet the same criteria as prose. If you have samples of your work at a website send us the link. There are some useful tips on this page
Comic scripts
Story content shouldn't differ from prose (strictly no super heroes!) but we're looking at really strong concise stories with a maximum of six pages, although we may consider up to ten if the story justifies it. But generally the shorter the better. We may consider serials. Submissions should be sent to subs@murkydepths.com
Preferred
Complete finished strips.
Rights
By submitting your work to Murky Depths you are confirming it is your own and that you have full rights to the work. We require first publishing rights. All other rights revert to the creator three months after publication. Work remains the copyright of the creator at all times. It would be a nice gesture, upon republication at any time in the future, to include "originally published in Murky Depths magazine" with a link to our site, but we're not going to make that obligatory!
Payment
For example, a complete finished strip of six pages would pay £48.
All contributors will receive a credit, brief bio and link. We aim to improve on all rates in the future.
All contributors will also receive two free copies (worth £13.98) of the issue of Murky Depths in which their work appears and a running list of contributors to each issue will be posted on this site.
